The Boss of You

We have taken the plunge! BossLady.ca is now live. Welcome to all our Soapboxgirls readers, and of course to any newcomers as well.

For the sake of the Soapboxgirls regulars, we’ve included a couple of recent posts here (sadly sans comments), explaining the background for what must seem to some of you a rather rapid transition. In our minds, of course, it’s been mulled over for a few months, so please forgive us if we seem quick to abandon Soapboxgirls to the trash-heap of history and jump straight into the new and shiny.

I imagine that in fact, the process of letting Soapboxgirls go will be long and gradual for us — perhaps more so for me than for Emira who has a personal blog where she can muse on topics non-business-related but dear to her heart. I haven’t (yet?) taken that step, so I may go through a bit of withdrawal when the need strikes to share my latest rant about politics, books, movies, gender, and whatnot. But we shall see.

In the meantime, we are delighted to present our new design and the seeds of our Boss Lady plans. There are many things still in development: for one thing, the links in the sidebar are but a shadow of what’s to come; for another, we obviously intend to start posting business-related information and ideas here. We are assembling profiles of women-run businesses, resources for women in business, and so on — all to be posted as they’re completed.
