We haven’t talked much lately about our book (which is actually the main reason we started this site). For those of you not in the loop, we’re in the process of writing a book (working title: Boss Lady — I know, you’re shocked. Shocked!) on starting and running a business, aimed at independent-minded young women. We’re very excited about it, but we’re in a bit of a hush-hush phase, because we’ve been talking to book agents and not wanting to blog too much about things until they get a little more solid.
But here’s a piece of news we can’t stand to keep quiet about: We met with our first publisher (well, acquisitions editor, to be precise) today. The meeting went really well and she seemed excited about the project. I don’t want to say too much more, partly due to superstition and partly because I think it’s safe to say we’re in the early courting phases, and hence a bit fragile.
Nevertheless, we want to celebrate this milestone. There was a time not so long ago that meeting with a publisher seemed like something that would never happen to us in our lifetimes; now we’ve actually done it. What other long-harboured dreams might be in reach?
