The Way It Was

Thank you so much to everyone who turned out to our panel yesterday; we were delighted by the turnout and the response! It seemed our fears of not being techie enough were unfounded, and we had a very lively discussion both amongst ourselves in the first segment, and with audience members when we took questions from the floor. We had SO MUCH FUN. And I suppose that shouldn’t surprise me, given how much I like and admire our co-panelists, but so often these conferences bring out one’s “serious face”… not sure whether that’s a factor of on-stage nerves, conditioning around business etiquette, or what, but frankly I found it refreshing to have a lively, laughter-filled dialogue where we were also discussing serious subjects. I hope that came across and that the attendees found it useful. We also had some great conversations afterward with audience members who came up and said hello — so thanks also to those of you who took that step.

worldmegan has posted an fabulous, near-exhaustive, three-part series of notes on the panel (1, 2, 3); feministing has some kind words and constructive criticism (point well taken); and the podcast is coming soon to the SXSWi website. (We’ll let you know when the podcast goes up.)
