It's a book. It's a blog. It's a guide to running a business your way

Meet our book-writing friends!

It seems the universe is currently abounding with books written by people we know and love. And that’s something to celebrate! Care to join us?

First up: This week the lovely Michelle Goodman comes to Vancouver, and we’re eagerly awaiting her arrival. Those of you who are considering a freelance career, or who want to make your job work for you rather than the other way around, will want to seize the chance to hear some of what the Anti 9-to-5 Guide author has to share in the way of wisdom. She’s doing two book readings here, this Thursday and Friday.

In other news, though not business-related, I just have to take a moment to celebrate the upcoming release of our friend Heather Corinna’s much-anticipated S.E.X.: The all-you-need-to-know progressive sexuality guide to get you through high school and college. For those of you unfamiliar with Heather, she is an incredibly gifted writer, photographer, and sex educator — and the driving force behind Scarleteen, the best sex-ed resource for young people online. This book is the culmination of years of work, and will no doubt set a new standard in its field. Here are the details on her book launch in Seattle:

The S.E.X. Book Release Party
Author reading, live sex and sexuality Q&A and book signing
Tuesday, May 8th: 7:00 - 10:00, all ages/ over 21 after 10:00

Karma Martini Lounge & Bistro, Seattle
2318 2nd. Avenue, Belltown (206) 838-6018

(Is it a coincidence that both of these books have been published by Avalon? Or are they publishing all the cool kids [ahem] these days?)
